SVG: What's Missing on the Web
You can be forgiven for never having heard of SVG, or scalable vector graphics, even though they've been in development since 1999 and in release since 2001. In short, SVG is an open standard XML file format that graphical and web developers can use to describe graphical constructs like lines, polygons, circles and other shapes, along with their characteristics. Since it is fully extensible, future SVG standards will include more powerful video capabilities. SVG received broad support throughout the web development community, but for reasons that can only be guessed at, Microsoft never included the capability to display these files in its market-dominating Internet Explorer browser, putting web developers in the difficult bind of whether to bother utilizing a format that the vast majority of web users wouldn't be able to view without a special plugin.
Why SVG?
SVG is a superior file format for displaying graphics on the web for several reasons. First and foremost, it's an open standard that can be utilized by any party without restrictions of any kind. In addition, SVG files are generally smaller than JPEG files or other similar formats. This makes SVG a particularly efficient format for use by mobile devices, such as the iPhone, which have the capability of displaying SVG files without a third-party add-in. The SVG standard is also backward compatible, meaning if a future version of the standard is released that an SVG rendering application doesn't support, it will simply render what it can and ignore the rest. Marketers will be able to take advantage of SVG's format to more easily index images and optimize them for search engine placement. Vendors of assistive technologies such as screen-readers may be able to utilize SVG to give their users a better understanding of the screen and its layout.
The Microsoft Effect
With all those positives, you may be wondering why Microsoft seems so reticent regarding integrating SVG capability into Internet Explorer. The general consensus, accurate or not, seems to be that Microsoft was hoping that its Silverlight technology would ultimately supersede SVG. Although Silverlight has come a long way in multimedia applications, for simple vector graphics, developers would still prefer something simple but extensible like SVG. In fact, a member of Microsoft's team has now been accepted to the W3C's SVG working group. He is now a member in good standing, and developers are hoping this bodes well for SVG in IE 9. The company has had no comment on the matter, neither now nor over the past nine years as SVG was passed over for inclusion in their flagship browser again and again.

An online website is an extremely effective way of reaching customers, but often businesses fail to make the most of their website. In this article we'll provide some tips on how you can improve website conversion rates.
One thing that you should be clear on before we go any further is that improving website conversion rates isn't something that only matters to e-commerce companies.
Websites can also form an important part of your company's customer retention strategy; the 'conversions' that you track can be customers who return to leave feedback, people who sign up for regular newsletters and promotions, or a whole wealth of actions that could prove useful to your business over time. Even if you only build good feeling with your website, the improved brand awareness can still lead to a sale further down the line.
Anyway, moving on swiftly, here are a few key aspects that can help you improve your website conversion rate - whether that means more customer interest or an actual customer sale:
Know your customer: A better understanding of the customer is essential to improving your conversion rates. Dig deep into your web analytics to track click patterns, user behavior, referral sites - anything you can find. It can all prove extremely useful in knowing just why people are on your site in the first place and why they are or are not taking the actions you want them to. Working out why people aren't converting in the first place is a pretty fundamental step.
Don't neglect self-promotion: There's a lot of competition on the web and users are notoriously impulsive in their browsing habits. It doesn't matter if you've got a great reputation if people haven't heard of you. Make sure that if you have good feedback, industry awards or some kind of proof that your business is the best at what it does, then anyone who visits your site will know it by the time they leave.
Be clear about what you do: People rarely throw money at things they don't understand. Well, things they don't think they understand (there is a small but important difference after all). You should clearly explain what you offer and what the customer would be doing when they 'convert' - and you should never, ever be unclear about anything that might affect your customer. People who feel in control are more likely to take action.
Commit to testing: Don't put half-baked strategies into action on your website. Using what you've learnt about your customer, seriously consider what you can do to improve your site before you take any action. Then once you've taken it, commit to it - see how rates are affected over time. You can experiment by all means but make sure that the experiment runs for long enough to be worth doing and make sure that it has a chance to make a change in the first place.

Change Your Password
The easiest suckers in any digital environment are those that don't change their passwords regularly. So change it so that inappropriate people who have learnt your password cannot tap into the calls. Remember that if you use the same password former employess probably know it. Former employees are commonly disgruntled or working for competitors so please change your password!
Use the security features provided by the Conference Call Providers
Many conference call providers provide users with a PIN for each individual call. Therefore the PIN will only work for that call so even if someone knows your password they can't listen in to your call. Anther useful feature is that when the moderator exits the call the shuts down. This is useful as it means that the moderator has full control over security and he knows that no more will be discussed once he leaves the call.
As always make sure your system is up to date with the latest security updates and make sure your anti-virus software and firewall is up-to-date and switched ON!(you would be suprised to learn how many people do not switch on their firewall.
Good luck and happy calling

Many people are entering the search engine optimization (SEO) space. Particularly in the last 18 months, the general public has become aware of the economic value associated with a page 1 ranking on a high volume search phrase. As this understanding has spread, so have the SEO businesses that aim to help others rank well. That's a fairly normal story of the development of a market where there was not really one before. But what is more interesting is the development of the SEO reseller market. SEO resellers operate just like any other value added reseller (VAR) in other sectors. We are all familiar with the VAR approach to selling telephony or web hosting, but in the search engine optimization space, SEO reseller programs are newer.
So if you have decided you want to join an SEO reseller program, how do you decide which one to go with? Here are the decision criteria you should use to make sure you end up with a partner that will help you hit your revenue goals. First, don't join any SEO reseller program from a company that does not themselves have good ranking. As obvious as this sounds, it would be like to see a dentist with yellow teeth. If the SEO doesn't use their own approach to rankings with good results, they will not be a good partner. You need to be with a team that believes in what they are doing enough to use it on their own website. If not, you should be worried about the quality of the search engine optimization.
The second criteria when selecting an SEO reseller partner is to try calling them. If you land in a call center where the people on the other end of the phone don't really understand SEO, pass. You want a team at the other end of the phone that is knowledgeable. No, not every member of the entire team will be an SEO super star - but the training in the organization should be strong enough to keep even their entry-level people from saying things you know to be incorrect.

Nintendo's Wii controller is an interesting technology. One of the best things about it is that it connects with Bluetooth. Which, lucky for you, meaning you can connect it to a computer with bluetooth! Even if your computer did't come with Bluetooth connectivity, relatively cheap adapters can be purchased online or at your local computer store.
So, for this post I'm will show you how to use a Wiimote to play NES games. There is much more you can do with the Wiimote, but I think this is a perfect (and easy) use of it. So lets get started!
First you must get your Wiimote to Discovery. You do this by pressing 1 and 2 buttons. The blue light at the bottom of the Wiimote to blink. You may have to press the buttons until the Wiimote connects to your computer. Now on your computer, right click your Bluetooth icon and click Show Bluetooth Devices. If there is no Bluetooth icon in the taskbar, go to Control Panel and double-click Bluetooth Devices. Click Add when the window (see below) pops up.
In the window that appears, select This device is tuned and ready to be found, and click Next. Although it's searching, make sure your Wiimote's lights are still flashing! It should find the Wiimote for selecting's found, and click Next. Now select the Don't use a key, and click Next (but make sure the lights are still flashing!) Click Finish when it's done.
We'is already almost done! All you need is GlovePIE, a program that lets you actually use your Wiimote, you can download it here. Just unzip the contents of the zip into a new folder and run GlovePIE.
It may look daunting, but it's actually really easy. Just go to file and open and navigate to WiimoteScripts (included in zip), look for NESController.pie. Click on Run and your Wiimote to control the NES Emulators! I tested it with the default settings VirtuaNES and it worked great!
GlovePIE will be more scripts for you to try, so have fun with it! It's just a matter of time before we have any games on your computer to play with the Wiimote, but in the meantime, enjoy all the things GlovePIE already allows you to do!

It'sa very aesthetically pleasing way to view the photos, and doesn't have to use the other part of Picasa! After Picasa is installed, just go to the Start menu, go to Picasa 3, and then click Set Picasa Photo Viewer.

Sometime in 2010, Google Chrome version of the operating system, its introduction to the netbook operating system. It will be much more than that, though. It's take on a completely new desktop operating system. Although the final version is still months from release there's enough Chrome available, we can begin to see what it will look.
For beginners, Chrome OS is Linux. To be precise, it owes much of its genes on Ubuntu. But that's all under the surface. You won't need to know the shell command from GNOME to use it. As in fact, you won't need to know about traditional desktop Linux - KDE and GNOME - either. Chrome OS's interface, Google's browser Chrome. If you use a web browser, you'll be able to use Chrome OS.
That'This is not the case now. Today, you have two options if you want to try Chrome OS. The first of these is to create yourself using Google's instructions. Even though it's pretty trivial for professional users of Linux, it's not for anyone else. A simpler way to try is to visit the Chrome OS blog, fan site Chrome OS frequently that the function is based on the Chrome OS, you can either run from a USB stick, or as a virtual machine using Sun's VirtualBox.
Either way, you should keep in mind that you're working with an outline of the operating system. This is no way, shape, or form the operating system that's ready for prime-time yet. Between it and the recent public comments from Matthew Papakipos, Chrome OS' engineering director, you can see where Google goes netbook with its operating system.
