Excellent article. However, if you follow the instructions of 1, keep in mind, that Google is able to track you and your users then. If you already use other Google services on your page, you may not care about this point. But if not, I think this is a very expensive way for a little more speed.

Honestly. If Apple doesn’t announce that true, native (send/receive) MMS, AND copy/paste will DEFINITELY be coming in 3.0, I am going back to Blackberry. I may even wait on the Pre. It is astounding that Apple won’t admit or explain why they’ve delayed or purposely omitted MMS and Copy/Paste on the iPhone. I want true MMS. Not some message with a link sent from your iPhone that someone has to click on to open a pic. How is it that a Blackberry can do it on AT&T and not the iPhone???!!!

I saw your article about 100%e2r and completely agree! I have a very hard time reading a lot of websites out there! Wish everyone would follow these simple rules.

I am going to spread the word…and have put the banner on my own website.

How about using Adobe Flex?
It’s a framework, as in point 1 described and it’s even open source! Leaving aside all the other advantages, here’s the best:
Your output is Flash! In other words, no optimization time for individual browser/OS combinations required. This saves you at least 20% of your development time — and this is what the article is all about, right?

ActionScript 3 is a car that was made by first building a really crappy car, which was actually not a car, but more of a television, then dismantling that car-o-vision and re-assembling it so that it was something like a car, but with a giant antenna on the top, which prevented it from traveling at any good speed- then they dismantled this version, and reassembled it into a car that is sort of like what JavaScript would be as a car, except with air-bags and a seatbelt, and pretty decent class library (can't think of a car metaphor)… overall, it looks like the third incarnation of the ActionScript-car is a fantastic improvement over the the ancestors from which it is cobbled. It drives along smoothly for 17 minutes and 43 seconds, then spontaneously explodes.

I’d like for Apple to be more open, but I wouldn’t want them to completely open source OS X. The problem with Android is that you have to build for the lowest common denominator or cut out large chunks of your audience. With the iPhone and iPod touch, they both have accelerometers and the same size and resolution multi-touch screens. The only differences are he lack of camera, built in mic and GPS which are really secondary input devices.

I've never quite understood this sentiment. As long as I can start working while the system continues to start services in the background (albeit a bit slower), I think that's great.

If I had to guess, I’d say that the Cupcake update to G1 will be handled no different from how T-Mobile handles updates to other operating systems such as the Blackberry. T-Mobile does not push out updates to Blackberry phones as soon as RIM makes them available. T-Mobile takes its own time, but eventually the updates do come. Whatever software features the hardware supports, T-Mobile pretty much passes them on. So, if the G1 supports the features available in Cupcake, it will eventually make its way to the G1. How far out that will be will depend entirely on how nicely the Cupcake update plays on the G1 and how much time/resources T-Mobile can devote to testing and tweaking it to play nicely on the G1.
